1. Acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the CanvasEdge browser extension and the website at canvasedge.xyz (together, the "Services") provided by CanvasEdge ("we", "us", "our"). By installing the extension or purchasing a license, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are a minor in your jurisdiction, you must have parental or guardian consent. By using the Services, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Use of the Services
CanvasEdge is a focus and privacy layer for Canvas LMS. It is intended for legitimate study use — concentration, accessibility, and reducing surveillance friction during open-resource sessions.
You are responsible for your own academic conduct. You must understand and comply with your institution's academic integrity, honor code, and exam policies. CanvasEdge is not a substitute for those policies, and we do not endorse using the Services to violate them. The Services are provided as a tool; how you use them is your responsibility.
You also agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the extension, except where this restriction is prohibited by law.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Services or your license key.
- Use the Services in any way that violates applicable law.
- Bypass or circumvent the licensing mechanism.
4. Licenses
When you purchase a Monthly or Lifetime plan, you receive a non-transferable license to use the extension. The license is bound to your purchase email address and may be activated on up to 2 devices simultaneously. You can deactivate a device from inside the extension to free up an activation slot.
"Lifetime" means the operational lifetime of the product. We currently have no plans to discontinue CanvasEdge, but if we are ever forced to do so (for any reason — legal, technical, or otherwise), the lifetime license terminates with the product. We commit to giving at least 90 days' notice if this ever happens.
We reserve the right to revoke licenses obtained through fraud, chargebacks, or violations of these Terms.
5. Payments
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, who acts as the Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy handles billing, sales tax, VAT, and currency conversion. You agree to Lemon Squeezy's terms when you complete a purchase.
Prices are listed in U.S. dollars. Monthly subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel. You can cancel any time via the customer portal link in your purchase email — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
6. Refunds
We offer a 7-day refund window on all purchases. If you are unsatisfied within 7 days of purchase, email support@canvasedge.xyz with your purchase details and we will refund you in full, no questions asked.
Refunds requested after 7 days are reviewed case-by-case at our discretion (for example, if the product becomes unusable due to a Canvas update we cannot work around).
7. Intellectual property
The CanvasEdge extension, website, source code, branding, and all related content are owned by CanvasEdge and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Services according to these Terms. We retain all other rights.
8. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". We disclaim all warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Canvas LMS evolves continuously. While we work hard to keep the extension compatible with current Canvas behavior, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation or that every feature will keep working forever.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CanvasEdge will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of academic standing, grades, opportunities, or profits arising from your use of the Services. Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Services is capped at the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if your payment fails or is reversed, or if we are required to do so by law. Upon termination, your license to use the Services ends, but provisions that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) will continue to apply.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. When we do, we will post the new version here with an updated effective date and notify active license holders by email if the changes are material. Continued use of the Services after the update means you accept the revised Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Services shall be resolved in the courts of the Philippines, except where local consumer-protection law gives you an alternative right of forum.
